psych209
in real life today i am teaching a couple of sections of psych209. well i must have been worried about it, because i dreamt that it was a disaster.
i showed up and as the sections were filing into the computer labs, the professor was handing out an assortment of nuts, including pistachios, for the students to eat. i was trying to make myself heard over the din--'please eat the nuts before entering the computer lab. there's no food allowed inside!'
then i realized the students were filing into two labs but there was only one of me. we were in the wrong building! my absent assistant cm must have been absent because she was in the correct building. there were about 75 students, a couple of TAs, the prof, and me. we all started to head to the other building when i realized i wasn't wearing shoes, just fuzzy slippers. luckily i had a pair of old flip-flops with me (for some reason). they seemed like unprofessional footwear, but i remembered that a fellow librarian i know wears flip-flops all the time (which is true in real life, too) and it's okay.
i put on my flip flops and took a look at my whole outfit. flip flops, track pants with a stripe down the side of each leg, and an oversized t-shirt. not my usual work attire, but there was nothing i could do at that point. i tried to laugh it off.
while everyone walked over to the other building (mgh) i took a shuttle. i wasn't sure if the shuttle was faster than walking. my shuttle driver pulled into a parking lot to drop me off, but realized too late that his boss always got mad when he pulled into that parking lot. it wasted time, according to mr. boss. unfortunately, his boss was there and started yelling at the driver and me, futher delaying my trip to class. the boss was being kind of scary and banging sticks together, and so i started yelling back at him and swearing a lot. this made the boss even angrier.
