bike shop
i was at a bike shop returning to try once again the bicycle i thought i wanted to buy. (in real life i bought that bicycle on sunday!) they had me try a fancier version of the same bike and i LOVED it! but it cost $1200 or something and i could not afford it. i asked if i could try the less expensive version i had tried on my previous visit. they brought me to that bike but i didn't like it at all. i realized it was the wrong bike. i was expecting a black road bike and they put me on a royal blue mountain bike with wacky handle bars. there was much confusion until they realized they had broken down and re-boxed the black bike and now they'd have to build one up again for me to try. i was quite frustrated.
while waiting, i was leaning on the wooden counter. a brown-haired woman on the other side of the counter started talking to me, but i could hardly hear her. i walked around to her side and she thought i looked familiar and was asking me if i had ever worked at bennigan's. um, no. 'i don't think i've ever even been to a bennigan's. she was surprised. she started talking about dancing and it turned out that she was also a tap dancer, just like me! then curly-haired p from my tap studio came over. i continued to talk to the brown-haired woman (who increasingly seemed to be flirting with me) while p stood too close to me. i put up my arm to force some personal space but she must've been very tired because she closed her eyes and leaned her head on my arm. it was annoying. she became defensive when i pulled her head up off my arm.
the brown-haired woman wanted to go back over to the counter (we had wandered) and asked me to lie on the floor and roll there with her. i refused. as she was rolling i looked and saw pam and jessie watched her, disapproving and disgusted. i turned to the person next to me and said--'look how pam and jessie are looking at her. oh--you're jessie.' it was confusing.

Yes! I knew it was only a matter of time before I was in your dream - and Pam too!
Hey! Where was I? Was it perhaps I who was the flirty, disgusting, rolling woman? I want to play, too!
no, you weren't the flirty lady. actually, looking back, i realized the she is based on a real person. a person we were talking about the other day. she stretches a lot. and seeks approval from a.d. yikes.
oh--and 'curly haired p' is not pam. she's a different real-life tapper with curly hair and a name that starts with p. and ends with 'ette'.
oh jeez. and in my previous comment i meant a.p. not a.d. a.d. is a librarian friend of mine in delaware and i'm pretty certain he does not tap dance.
