cocktail bars and 'a noncontagious inflammatory skin disease'

i was working in a hotel, doing what i'm not sure, and some girls who had just arrived by plane (perhaps the hotel was attached to an airport?) were asking me to recommend a good cocktail bar. i pointed across the lobby to the hotel bar and they looked thoroughly disinterested. i tried to think of somewhere nearby that would suit them and was asking my friend ac (who apparently also worked at the hotel) where she would go. she recommended a place with a friendly sort of name that i can't remember now. the girls seemed to be trying to decide if it was hip enough for them. ac told them the bar's motto, which i also can't remember now, but it was cute.

meanwhile i am working away at my job, which involved occasionally looking at a computer screen. well, i got an email from eb with photos from her beach excursion with a couple of friends. the sun in the photos was very very bright and everything was a bit washed out. all three of them were wearing pale grey bathing suits, but eb also had these funny things on her hands and forearms. they were grey, to match her suit, and looked like long socks. they went about halfway up her forearm and dangled far past the ends of her hands. it turns out that she had very bad psoriasis on her hands and needed to wear these protective sock-like things to shield her skin from the sun.

there was another dream, too, about me and some friends running away from some guy who might have had a striking resemblance to kevin klein. excitement! danger! i'll write about it later.

last night i had a dream about highway accidents. many of them. you were in the passenger seat of the car for most of it. but we weren't in the accidents...we just kept driving by them. creepy.

very creepy. thanks for driving so safely. it was probably smart of you to dream me in the passenger seat rather than the driver's seat last night. i was extraordinarily sleepy and it wouldn't have been safe to put me behind the wheel. whole dream might have turned out differently.
