cute librarians

i was talking to two teenage girls, one of whom had very long, very curly hair. she could not find a way to style her hair that made her happy, and she and her friend were complaining about the awful hairstyle advice she'd received from numerous librarians. the styles these well-meaning librarians suggested were seen as boring and unattractive and the girls implied that they thought the librarians were likewise boring and unattractive.

i became defensive, insisting that there are lots of very cute librarians in the world! as if on cue, in walks my cute librarian friend (i have many cute librarian friends, but the one who chose to appear in my dream last night is especially cute). i handed her 15 cents for 'being so cute'. she smiled.
