tappin' val

i found myself scooting into a theatre (just off stage left) as valerie was performing a very cute and well-executed tap solo in a performance. she was having a playful interaction with a man in the cast who was jokingly backing down from her dance as if she was being aggressive--but really they were both being cute and playful.

valerie finished dancing and as i clapped i also tried to catch her eye so she would know i was there to see her performance. she didn't see me and didn't see me, and people clapped and clapped, and finally she saw me and knew i was there!

perhaps i am having a little sadness over missing valerie's dance performance last week. i did get to watch her dance 'i can't stand the rain' today and she was fabulous!
