nice to meet you
i was in a library with kim (from my youth--she was a friend from church, dance class, and school). we were near the elevator waiting. it turns out we were waiting for miss e and miss a. they entered and headed towards us. there was much reuniting between e, kim, and me as if we were all long-lost friends. kim and i had not met a, and she opted not to participate in the enthusiastic hellos and hugs. she kindly took the lead in heading upstairs to get a group study room for us all where we could meet her once we settled down.
a headed up the stairway, and a few moments later the three of us took the elevator. when we got off the elevator we saw that we had arrived before her. e had an idea, and the general consensus was that it was terribly witty. we would go sit in the group study room that a was going to reserve for us. since a had not yet met me and kim, she wouldn't recognize us and would think the room was taken. but then, SURPRISE! the room isn't taken! it's just us! oh, what a funny surprise that would be! off we went.
in real life i have not yet met miss a. when we do meet, i will try to remember to introduce myself properly, rather than jumping out of a group study room and surprising her. all i can promise is to try.

Do you ever wake up laughing from your dreams? This is the kind of thing that would make me wake up laughing and then I'd go: "That's not really that funny."
My friend Dee Dee had a dream once in which she was singing "Consider Yourself" from "Oliver!" and left off the "s" on one line, which became: "Consider your elf part of the furniture." She woke up laughing, thought "that's not really that funny", and called me to tell me about it.
