mid-term feedback

i don't know if this was a conversation i had in the car with doctor j last night after dinner, or if i dreamt it in my (sadly) restless sleep last night.

doctor j strongly encouraged me to solicit mid-term feedback from my students. she was very much behind this idea and stated that she solicits such feedback each quarter. i was nervous because i'm not sure how much i'd really be able to change based on the feedback, but she was encouraging. she seemed to indicate she had a standard feedback form that i could use, too.

doctor j, was this real? it is strangely similar to a real-life conversation i had the other day with someone else. i'm thinking i dreamt this one. but you did give me good grading advice last night in the car!

I do not ever ever ever do mid-term feedback and I do not have a standard form for doing so. This was not an actual conversation.

I can't even read my end of the quarter evaluations anymore. They're too devastating, even when they're mostly positive.

If I did midterm feedback, it would result in my going into the classroom and trying to defend all of my pedagogy. It would not lead to any positive changes in my teaching.

We should talk more, though.
