fly friendster!
someone was talking about how friendster is problematic. they were explaining how the ease of making inexpensive travel arrangements on friendster allows people to make such reservations at the last minute, often deciding to surprise those they are going to visit. frequently, they arrive at their unsuspecting guests' houses to discover their guests have also taken advantage of friendster's good travel deals and, thus, are out of town.
i was feeling defensive. i wanted to explain that i never book travel on friendster! (this is quite true). i find the deals on friendster and then use a service like travelocity to book my flights, where i often find even cheaper prices.
but, not-so-coincidentally perhaps, i realized i had just made a surprise visit to my parents only to find them a) practically-if-not-entirely divorced and b) both off travelling with their respective new love interests. i was sad. frustrated. i yelled at them.
