a sampler

many dreams last night. here is a sampling.

ac was trying hard to wink, slowly and deliberately.

my roommate lj was offering me my blue and black striped socks. when i didn't take them quickly enough he threw them at me. (i decided to wear those socks today as they provide a nice segue from my blue pants to my black shoes).

i was working in ck's darkroom on a wedding photo in which the bride's dress needed much burning in (this was actually a real memory of one of my first days working in the darkroom and i really did print and re-print the b&w photo to get the dress looking right.) i was rubbing the bride's dress with my finger while it was in the developer (this happened in real life, too) to hopefully help darken it since maybe the burning in wasn't enough. i was thinking about the quality of the paper--it was fiber paper and warm-toned. i was also thinking how now everything at ck is digital now and there's hardly any darkroom work to be done these days.

interestingly when i awoke, kexp was honoring women's history month by playing lucinda williams. they played car wheels on a gravel road--and that song sends me right back in time to ck's darkroom where i listened to that album endlessly, and sang along in the dark.
